Always Learning

So I learned something new today from my cousin Lindsay's blog....that is that if you click on the pictures in someones blog you can see them in a larger size. Now this is great news because I usually put my pictures on either small or medium. This may sound silly but I feel like the large pictures waste too much space. I'm not sure what space, but it's almost like scrapbooking. I have a hard time just putting one picture on a page. Anyway, now I know, and maybe someone else can learn about it too. Plus Keaton does not look as cute in small pics as in the bigger ones.

On a second note, I've been working in my classroom the last few days. I take Keaton with me and put on a movie, then hope he doesn't destroy more than I accomplish. It's so peaceful with no kids, I think it looks great. I bought a big rug for the reading corner and I'm bringing back in my rocking chair from Keaton's room. Maybe I'll get a lamp or a tree....just to make it more cozy. School starts August 11th.....I wish I could say I'm as excited as kids seem to be.

Melissa's Moving Day

Well the day has finally come, Melissa and Ben loaded up this morning and headed out for Utah. And they took Braden too. I wonder how long Mom will cry for. I wonder if Braden will cry. I wonder if all of that will make Melissa cry. Keaton is an only child and this is his first cousin, but since Braden is moving, he'll be all alone again. Here are pics of the last few moments in their apartment of 3 years in Mesa and of the cute cousins.

Keaton has never posed for a pic before, he is usually reaching for the camera or running away, so this is amazing but he does love his cousin a lot and now calls every baby he see's Braden. I can't believe Braden is already six weeks! Oh they grow so fast.

The forced smile may be a bit overdone though. We decided he may have been making a funny face due to Braden's fluffy hair tickling him.

All that's left...one folding chair, cleaning supplies, a car seat and diaper bag.

Hugs good-bye

A few tears from Mom

Ben's car is filled to the brim...bye Ben, drive safely.

Melissa's car also very full but it has more baby stuff. Good Luck Melissa and Braden.

Dance Machine!

This summer Keaton was in a "movement" class through Gilbert parks and rec. He loves to dance and has really good rythm so it was fun for him. Keaton does not like to be corrected or told what to do so we really had to stand back and let him do things on his own time. For example if they were marching and you said "March Keaton" he'd say no and sit down and might even tell you to go away.... but he did like to have the complete attention of the teacher and always was right next to her when they were skipping or flying or whatever they were doing. Here are some pics of his last day in class.

SUMMER TIME

As summer is coming to a close (well I have to go back to work that is...) we spent a day at the splash pad in Chandler getting wet. Keaton had a facination with the bark on the trees and prefered drinking the water to playing in it (GROSS!) These pictures were very forced because mostly he wanted to slide and slide and slide but he was never still long enough to take a picture on the slide. So instead of getting super wet we actually spent most of our time baking in the sun at the playground.

Eye Surgery

So Keaton has a durmoid cyst in the corner of his eye. We started seeing it about a year ago but weren't quite sure what it was. Finally after showing the doctor more than once they figured out it was a cyst and referred us to an Opthamologist, he sent us for a CAT scan. Poor kid had to have an I.V. and be held down. Well the films showed it was a good size behind the surface of the skin so he had to have surgery. She put the incision in the crease of his eye lid so it would be less noticable. Here are pics from that fun day.

The car ride to surgery center, we had to be there at 6:oo am. I was hoping I could just pull him out of bed asleep since he couldn't eat or drink but he woke up and had no idea what he was in for.

We put him in his little gown and booties, at this point he was upset he didn't want to change his clothes and maybe he sensed it was a doctors office.

They had me lay with him in the bed of the recovery room as he came out of the anesthesia. Poor baby was very confused and it took about an hour after we went home before he had complete control of his arms and legs again.

This is Keaton the day after surgery going in for a follow up appointment. It looks like he got beat up! It's hard to see in the small pic but if you click on it and make it larger you can see the purple eye. The doctor said all is well.

Keaton on the computer a week after surgery. The doctor said she was amazed how fast he was healing and that he did a great job.

ELMO

Keaton went to see Sesame Stree live with Elmo. He loves music so he was super into it. Nothing like seeing a show with all the girls :)

Easter

This was another fun holiday mostly because he's at such a great age of trying new things and geting so excited. He loved coloring the eggs. Every time I dropped one in the dye he said "Where'd it go, I don't know." Then I pull it out and he says "There it is!" He didn't quite get the finding the eggs part he has no sibblings or cousing so no examples I guess. I had to lead him to each egg individually in the yard.
