OCTOBER...The End!

Ok well I already posted about my new blog but thought I'd finish my last post here.  Since we got married in November that will start our new blog.  As a fun sidenote....this is my 100th post on this little blog, so kind of bitter sweet.  Anyway here we go!
Family photos / Engagement pics (more of these on the new blog)
My brother Houston got married to Kyndra...I don't have very many good pictures from the wedding.  I was in charge of my mom's video camera.  Anyway, here they are in the receiving line...and then Houston dancing with my mom.   I tried to steal a picture of the bride and groom from facebook or someone else's blog but just can't find one.  Sorry Kyndra to leave you out of your own wedding!   Anyway, they are a very cute couple and I am so super happy for them.

Two weeks later on of Jay's best friends Nick got married and Jay was in that wedding.  Here he is looking all dressed up and studly  although why they decided to shave their heads that morning is beyond me and having worked at a tux store for three weeks or so, lol, I would have to say Men's Warehouse obviously screwed up when they took his sleeve measurements.
I took two of these, the other one is better but when I was editing I deleted the wrong one...so it's the only picture of us together.
The Bride and Groom - Linda and Nick Sumas
The boys breakin it down....see video next.

Then there was Halloween.  We went to Vertuccio farms for FHE before Halloween and had some good old fashioned fun!  Hercules here rang the bell.
We went on a little "train" ride behind a tractor

 Milked a fake cow

Tried this picture a dozen times unsuccessfully
 Sat on  a big tractor

And had a fun time out with the fam. (kettle corn and corn maze included but not pictured)

NEXT UP - HALLOWEEN
So Halloween night was on a Sunday and I wasn't planning on taking Keaton trick or treating for a few reasons....first of all this was his loot from trick or treating at his preschool!
Then on Saturday we had a ward party.  Our ward set up at the park in my neighborhood.  People sat on blankets or chairs around the outside of the park and the kids trick or treated to them.  It was fast and easy.

The boys had fun playing games too.

Good times had by all.  On Halloween night we were at my parents for dinner we were going to go home and trick or treat to our few neighbors but then the kids started coming to my parents.  Keaton really loved answering the door and passing out the candy.

As a side note....Keaton really really wanted to be superman  I tried to tell him he had already been before don't worry...this time he has the muscles!

Well Halloween is on the 31st which means this is the end of  October and the end of the updates (3 months later)  Please feel free to change my blog and check us out at our new place.

Moving right along...SEPTEMBER

Do you know how Jay and I met....well we met online on one of those silly LDS dating websites.  I was embarrassed to tell people at first but the reality is, once Keaton's dad moved my every other weekend was gone and even when I had my parents watch him, where was I really supposed to go to meet anyone.  So there you have it.  We started emailing in March, texting and talking on the phone the beginning of April and our first "date" was bowling.  It was a public place to meet and pretty low key.  Anyway, we bowled three games.  The first one was a little uncomfortable but soon we were warmed up and able to laugh and joke and have a good time and I kicked some booty.  So we decided to do dinner at Olive Garden, had no problems talking and kept that up as we went for a walk at Tempe Town Lake.  And that's how our little story began.   Well these are not from that time but we have been bowling several more times since.
This was a time we took Keaton.
I think Keaton took this picture for us.
K-man going for a big strike.
Keaton also took this picture.  I really like it.  He has a huge goofy grin and since you can only see half my face I think I look pretty good too, well my eyes look good anyway.

Another fun Saturday in September was our trip to the zoo.  Jay had told me how much he hated the Phoenix Zoo.  But since I had a membership and it was free, it was something to do with all the kids.  I have taken this picture of Keaton for the last three years.

He's getting to be such a big boy.  (As a forgotten side note, at his 4 year well check he was 95 percentile in weight and 92nd percentile in height)

Here are our babies with the mama wallaby
Jay wresting the elephant and the children at the same time.  What a stud.

 Me and my little man.

So unfortunately we both have cars that are 10+ years old and not always the most reliable.  On this special occasion we  rented a truck to move some stuff and to go down to Tucson to visit family...our sonic kids meals had this fun little disguise.  We have such a good time together!

Last but not least.....WE GOT ENGAGED!  Back to the top of this post, since our first date was at the bowling alley, Jay proposed to me there.  He said we were meeting friends apparently they were running late so we went ahead and started without them.   Turns out they weren't ever coming of course and he proposed to me at the end of our game.   I was a little shocked and since I am totally not a public person felt kind of embarrassed and speechless, even though no one else around us was really paying attention.

And there you have it.....a little more insight into our love story and the beginning of our lives together.

Next up...August

Are we having fun with all this playing catch up yet?  Well August is a big month because I have a birthday on the 12th and Keaton's is on the 13th.  We had dinner at my parents and I requested Mexican food so my dad had someone from his spanish branch make me real flan, which was actually better than I thought it would be.  Then we had a cake for Keaton of course.

For my birthday my thoughtful boyfriend, Jay, took me to The Melting Pot...$100 later, we weren't that impressed.  The food was ok but would have been just as happy at Texas Roadhouse or Outback.  However we did decide it might be fun to go back just for desert it's 15 dollars for the chocolate fondue and they have different kinds, I think we got the turtle with chocolate, carmel and nuts.  Then to dip there were bananas, strawberries, marshmellows, cheese cake, rice krispie treats...and maybe something else I'm forgetting.  It was memorable, though I don't really recommend it.  Oh and while I'm mentioning my thoughtful man, he sent me these at work on my b-day which was also the 2nd day of school so my new coworkers were impressed :)

Keaton got a fun package from his dad for his birthday.  He loves checking the mailbox and seeing if he has any mail.  Especially since often his mail is bigger and he has to use the special key to open the big mailbox.  We also did a small family part for him on his actual birthday but with my cell phone camera and bad lighting at peter piper, they didn't really come out.
Another fun time in August was going to Golfland.  This was Keaton's first time so he needed a little help.  But he had a blast even though obviously he rarely got it in the hole in less than 6 shots.
Jay lost his ball in the water about half way through.  And it was super hot outside (August remember) so we called it good after 10 holes...but let it be known that at that point I was the winner :)  You will start to notice on this blog many self portraits of Jay and I...we either need to ask someone else to stop and take our pictures or start going on more double dates.

At the diamondbacks game...I think we lost but at this point that was 4 months ago so I don't really remember.
Did a little home improvement.  Jay installed a ceiling fan in my bedroom.
He also installed a new kitchen faucet.  It has a much longer neck so it can actually reach half way across the sink, plus a sprayer which is always handy.
I hung this up in my hallway, I really like it if I do say so myself.
And did this in the hall bath.
Things are starting to run together now....my September post just may include some August activites...but who would really know right?  I don't.  And that's all for now.

July

Spent 4th of July weekend up in Utah seeing my new neice.  Drove there with these people...crazy times let me just tell you!
Beautiful weather to play at the park or in the water in the backyard.
We also took a trip to an air force museum.  The planes were huge and the boys absolutely love it!

And it was cool enough at night to enjoy s'mores around the fire pit, although dumb daylight savings it never gets dark!

That night we let off some sparklers in the street.

And before we left we had to at least try to take some group photos.  Working with 3 kids under 3, not the easiest thing to do.

My phone was very busy and it kept bothering Melissa that I was texting all day long,  I was missing hanging out with this guy.  He must have been missing me too cuz he had to find a stand in girlfriend...but look at her face...I'm way better looking if I do say so myself.
Ok only 4 months behind now...more to come hopefully sooner than later.
