What's Up?

Summer seems slow but we try really hard to keep busy. I figure my choices are to take Keaton out and let him use up his energy by destroying other peoples property or stay home and let him destroy mine. Ok well he doesn't destroy other peoples stuff but I have been seen dragging a screaming child out of several nice establishements when he refuses to go home. Here's some of our July adventures.

Last week we went to the library for toddler bingo. The kids got animal crackers to mark their spots and they used animal pictures. Everyone won twice, so it was great, in all we got a ball, a book, a box of animal crackers plus a coupon for a free chick-fil-a kids meal and we had fun. We took Kamryn with us too. Keaton was not having anything to do with pictures so I only have this one bad one cuz then the battery died, but I did get a pic of cute Kami playing Bingo.

Keaton has been in swimming lessons for these past two weeks and one more session the next two weeks. He is a tadpole, the first class on his own. They mostly practice bobbing, kicking, floating on their back and gliding with their hands out, and a little bit of scooping the water with big arms. He loves it and is pretty good for his teacher, thank goodness, no big fits like a few of the other kids.

Saturday we had two parties to go to so we put on a nicer shirt and actually did something to his hair, this is my big boy with his faux hawk and him and I taking a self portrait in the car.
.
Yesterday we went to Toy Town. It is in Awahtukee and Keaton had lots of fun although it was an unusually slow day so he was there by himself for an hour (which means it wasn't a break for me cuz I had to sit and play). It was $7 to get in and once kids came he played for 4 hours. Lots of kid sized houses with dress up and make believe toys. He loved the Department of Public Safety and dressed up in a variety of fireman outfits and he also spent a lot of time with the trains.

This morning was another outing to the library. This time Arizona Ric told stories with balloons. It was really great and the kids loved it. Yvette met us with her kids. Kiley was taken by a mummy to be his bride. (the boys raced to see who could wrap the girl with 10 balloons first) She got a cute wrist lady bug for being the girl). Keaton was the mouse who ate the wheat in the house that Jack built. He as chased by a cat who was chased by a dog, etc etc. This guy was really good....I wonder how much he charges for birthdays.

None of our kids are in this one but you can see some cool animals, roadrunner, poodle, rabbit, duck, flower and the giraffe in the back.

Again we got Chick-fil-a coupons so we went to eat and play and now Keaton is down for a long nap which is why I have a few minutes to do this post. More fun to come...I'm back to work August 6 so just 3 more weeks to live it up this summer!

God Bless the U.S.A.

We spent the 4th of July with some of my softball friends, they all have kids the same age as Keaton, it started out as a pool party / barbeque outside, but a hive of bees in the neighbors yard kind of ruined those plans, we couldn't splash enough to keep the hundreds of bees off of us, so we ended up inside. Poor Yvette, she has a 10 day old baby and now her house is full of 6 noisy kids and several more adults, but she was a wonderful hostess as always. We loaded up the cars and headed to Mesquite High School for the fireworks but decided not to brave the large crowds so we found a good spot in the parking lot nearby and enjoyed them from there. Fun times had by all.
